What type of batteries does the CT3355 thermostat require?

The thermostat requires two AA alkaline batteries. Honeywell recommends Energizer® batteries, as non-alkaline batteries do not last as long and can leak, causing damage to the thermostat or wall surface. Batteries must be installed for programming and operation of the thermostat and heating/cooling system.
