Why is my auxiliary heat running during cooling mode on a heat pump system?

For heat pump systems, auxiliary heat running during cooling is typically caused by a wire incorrectly attached to the W terminal on the UWP. You should verify there is no wire connected to the W terminal, as the manual explicitly states 'Do not use this terminal for heat pump applications.' Refer to the heat pump wiring diagrams to correct the wiring. (Page 13)
