Why is my display flashing 'Cool On' or 'Heat On' and the compressor isn't running?

This is the built-in compressor protection feature. It forces the compressor to wait a few minutes after shutdown before restarting to prevent damage. The display will stop flashing once the safe wait time has elapsed and the compressor will turn on (Page 5).
