Why is my thermostat display blank?

Check the circuit breaker and reset if necessary. Ensure the power switch for the heating and cooling system is on, the furnace door is closed securely, and fresh AA alkaline batteries are correctly installed. If the thermostat is battery-powered only, verify the batteries are properly inserted.
