Where should I install the thermostat, and what locations should I avoid?
Install the thermostat approximately 5 feet (1.5 meters) above the floor in an area with good air circulation at average temperature. Avoid locations affected by drafts, dead spots behind doors or corners, hot or cold air from ducts, radiant heat from the sun or appliances, concealed pipes and chimneys, or unheated/uncooled areas such as an outside wall behind the thermostat.
