No, you must disconnect from any VPN before installing HP Smart software, as you cannot install apps from the Microsoft Store while connected to a VPN. Reconnect to the VPN after finishing the printer setup. Consider your location and the security of the Wi-Fi network before disconnecting. (Page 3)
