Why is there no audio from headphones or speakers connected to the docking station?

If the audio device is connected to the docking station but no sound is heard, the docking station may not be set as the default audio device. Set the docking station as the default audio playback device in your computer's audio settings, or alternatively connect the audio device directly to the computer. (Page 17)
