Open the print cartridge door and ensure the printer carriage moves to the center — if it does not, turn the device off and back on. Remove the tape from both cartridges, being careful not to touch the copper-colored contacts, then insert the tri-color cartridge in the left slot and the black cartridge in the right slot, pushing firmly until they snap into place.
