What should I do if my dryer is taking too long to dry clothes?

Long drying times are most commonly caused by blocked or dirty exhaust ducts, an uncleaned lint filter, or an improperly sorted load — check and clean these first. Make sure the exhaust ductwork is properly configured, free of debris, and that outside wall dampers can open properly. Overloading the dryer can also cause longer drying times, so divide extra-large loads into smaller loads. If the circuit breaker has tripped or a fuse is blown, reset or replace it without increasing fuse capacity. (Page 30)
