What should I do if excessive smoking occurs during the self-clean cycle?

Switch the Oven Selector knob to OFF immediately and open windows to rid the room of smoke. Allow the oven to cool for at least one hour before opening the door, then wipe up the excess soil and reset the clean cycle. Excessive smoking is caused by too much soil in the oven before cleaning.
