Remove all packaging materials and place the brewer on a stable, level surface. Remove the 48-ounce water reservoir and wash it with warm, soapy water, then rinse thoroughly. Fill the reservoir with fresh, filtered water up to the "MAX" fill line and plug the brewer into a grounded outlet. Finally, perform a cleansing brew by placing a large mug on the drip tray without a K-Cup pod, lifting and lowering the handle, selecting the 10-ounce brew size, and pressing the brew button to discard the hot water.
