How do I clean the entrance needle to prevent grounds in my coffee?

Lift the coffee maker handle and locate the entrance needle on the underside of the lid. Hold the handle in the upward position and carefully insert a straightened paper clip into all three holes in the needle, gently moving it around to loosen any coffee grounds. Lower the handle completely and run two water-only brew cycles without inserting a K-Cup pod. (Page 5)
