How do I know when to replace the water filter?

The Water Filter status light will show ORDER FILTER (yellow) when it is almost time to change the filter, and REPLACE FILTER (red) when the filter must be replaced. You should replace the disposable water filter at least every 6 months or sooner if water flow to your dispenser or ice maker decreases noticeably. Closing the filter compartment door after installing a new filter will automatically reset the filter status tracking feature. (Page 17)
