How do I check if the stator coils are in good condition?

Test the stator with an ohmmeter set on the 1X scale. Connect one ohmmeter lead to the red wire and the other to the black wire of each coil. If the ohmmeter shows a low resistance reading, the coil is good. If the needle deflects to zero or shows no deflection, the coil is bad and the stator must be replaced.
