How long should I wait before touching the drive after disconnecting power?

Capacitors retain charge for approximately 180 seconds after power is removed, so you must allow at least 3 minutes for discharge of residual charge before touching the drive. This applies both to general servicing and when using the integrated disconnect switch on NEMA 4X models. Failure to observe this waiting period risks severe electrical shock injury or death. (Page 5)
