Why do my ice cubes taste bad or have an odor?

Bad taste or odor in ice cubes can come from three sources: a dirty ice storage bin, food items transmitting odors to the ice, or a dirty refrigerator interior. Empty and thoroughly wash the ice bin, cover or wrap food items to prevent odor spread, and refer to the refrigerator's Owner's Manual for interior cleaning instructions.
