How should I prepare my refrigerator if I'm going on vacation?
If leaving the refrigerator ON, use up perishables, freeze other items, and turn OFF the icemaker. If turning the refrigerator OFF, remove all food, unplug it, clean and dry well, and prop both doors open with rubber or wood blocks to prevent odor and mold buildup. (Page 18)
