What is the correct way to install the drain hose for my Maytag washer?

Place the drain hose into the standpipe or over the side of the laundry tub, ensuring that 4.5 inches of the drain hose is inside the standpipe. Do not force excess hose into the standpipe or lay it on the bottom of the laundry tub. Use a cable tie to secure the drain hose to the laundry tub leg or drain standpipe to reduce splashing. [Page 1]
