Why is my Maytag dryer not drying clothes properly or taking too long?

The most common causes are a clogged lint screen or exhaust vent, an oversized load, or a room temperature below 7°C (45°F). To check airflow, run the dryer for 5–10 minutes and hold your hand under the outside exhaust hood — if you don't feel air movement, clean or replace the exhaust vent. Also ensure the vent is not crushed, kinked, or too long.
