How do I load laundry into my Maytag top load washer?

Load items by dropping them in loose heaps evenly around the washplate and agitator, avoiding laying items lengthwise around these components. As the washer dampens and moves the load, the level of items will settle in the basket, which is normal. It is also normal for some of the load to be above the water line, and you should not see a washer basket full of water like with past agitator-style washers.
