What is the correct incoming water temperature for the dishwasher to clean properly?

The incoming water temperature should be 120°F (49°C) to properly activate the detergent and melt greasy food soils. To check the temperature, run the hot water faucet nearest the dishwasher into a glass and use a candy thermometer to measure it once it stops rising. If the temperature is too low, select the Hi Temp or Temp Boost option (on select models) to extend heating until proper temperature is reached.
