How do I properly use the fabric softener dispenser?

Pour a measured amount of liquid fabric softener into the fabric softener tray and close the dispenser drawer, then be sure to select the Fabric Softener-On option on the control panel. The Fabric Softener option must be selected to ensure the product is dispensed at the correct time during the rinse cycle. Do not overfill or dilute, as overfilling will cause the fabric softener to immediately dispense into the washer. (Page 8)
