What safety equipment should I wear when welding?

Wear an approved welding helmet fitted with a proper shade of filter lens to protect your face and eyes from arc rays and sparks. Also wear approved safety glasses with side shields under your helmet. Body protection must be made from durable, flame-resistant material such as leather, heavy cotton, or wool, including oil-free clothing such as leather gloves, heavy shirt, cuffless trousers, high shoes, and a cap.
