How does the Lift-Arc TIG mode work on the XMT 350?
In Lift-Arc TIG mode, a low sensing voltage is present at the output terminals rather than the full open-circuit voltage, which prevents the tungsten electrode from overheating, sticking, or becoming contaminated before the arc starts. To start the arc, firmly touch the tungsten electrode to the workpiece, hold contact for 1–2 seconds, then slowly lift the torch — the arc initiates as the torch is lifted. (Page 23)
