How do I use the Lift-Arc TIG process on the XMT 304?

With the Process Switch in the Lift-Arc TIG position, touch the tungsten electrode to the workpiece at the weld start point, hold it to the workpiece for 1-2 seconds, then slowly lift the electrode — an arc will form when the electrode is lifted. Normal open-circuit voltage is not present before the tungsten touches the workpiece; only a low sensing voltage exists between electrode and workpiece, so the solid-state output contactor does not energize until after contact. Do not strike the electrode like a match. (Page 23)
