Yes, you can use the EX6120 in access point mode by connecting it to a router or network using an Ethernet cable. This creates a new WiFi hotspot without extending an existing network. During setup, choose the ACCESS POINT button instead of the WIFI RANGE EXTENDER button, and the extender will check for an Internet connection and allow you to set up your new access point network.
