When should I use the SMALL BATCH setting, and how does it work?

Use the SMALL BATCH setting when brewing 4 cups or fewer to ensure the same great flavor as a full carafe brew. Add only the amount of water corresponding to the number of cups you want to brew, as the unit will use up the total amount of water in the reservoir regardless of the Small Batch setting. Do not add more water than the number of cups of coffee you intend to brew. (Page 6)
