How do I clean the pressure regulator knob?

After the unit has cooled, press down and turn the pressure regulator knob counterclockwise past STEAM to the CLEAN setting, then carefully lift to remove it. Look through the holes to check for particle buildup, then rinse it under running water. Replace the knob by lining up the two notches with the inside wall of the pressure regulator chamber and turning clockwise until the white button aligns with the PRESSURE or STEAM setting.
