No, never immerse the casing of the appliance in water or rinse it under running water, as it contains electrical components and the heating element (Page 4). To avoid electrical shock, the casing with electrical parts must never come into contact with fluids. Only the removable accessories that are labeled as dishwasher friendly can be washed this way.
