Can I dry items that have been soaked in cooking oil or vegetable oil?

You should not place items soaked with vegetable oil or cooking oil in the dryer, even after washing, as residual oil can ignite spontaneously when exposed to heat. If such items must be dried, always use the Cool Down cycle to reduce their temperature, and never remove them from the dryer hot or pile them when hot. Washing in hot water with extra detergent will reduce but not eliminate the hazard. (Page 3)
