Why is it important not to use plastic or metal foil vents for my Sears W11558A dryer exhaust?

Plastic and metal foil (foil type) ducts are prone to collapse, crushing, trapping lint, which obstruct airflow leading to increased risk of fire. Only rigid vent materials should be used.
