Why does my Shark Rocket Vacuum keep turning off automatically?

The vacuum has a motor-protective thermostat that automatically shuts it off if it overheats, indicated by a flashing red light. To resolve this, turn off and unplug the vacuum, empty the dust cup, clean the filters, and check for blockages in the hose, wand, and handheld inlet. Then allow the vacuum to cool for at least 60 minutes before plugging it back in.
