How do I use the Free Motion / Darning Foot for free motion quilting?

Remove the presser foot and presser foot ankle, then drop or cover the feed dogs before attaching the Free Motion Foot — making certain the metal arm is on the needle clamp and the screw is tightened securely. Select a straight stitch with center needle position; stitch length will be determined by the movement of the fabric rather than the machine setting. Position the fabric under the foot, bring the bobbin thread to the top, and begin stitching while moving the fabric in a smooth motion at a consistent speed. (Page 30)
