What needle type should I use when sewing knit fabrics?

A Ball Point Needle is designed specifically for knit fabrics, as its rounded tip slides between the yarns without snagging. Alternatively, a Stretch Needle with a rounded point is perfect for sewing through stretch fabrics and piercing through thicker threads. Both needle types are available in multiple sizes.
