How does the ice maker work on my Whirlpool refrigerator?

The ice maker automatically produces ice by filling the ice maker's mold with water, where it freezes into cubes. After the heating element is activated, it gently warms the mold to release the ice into the storage bin. The ice maker will continue this cycle to provide a steady ice supply until the wire shutoff arm is raised by the accumulated ice.
