Why is my ice maker not making ice?

A common reason an ice maker does not make ice is that it was accidentally turned off. Check that the wire shutoff arm is in the lowered 'On' position. Sometimes, resetting the ice maker can resolve minor issues—locate the reset button on your ice maker and press and hold it for a few seconds, or perform a power cycle by unplugging the refrigerator for 1 minute and then plugging it back in.
