How do I properly exhaust my dryer?

Ensure that your dryer is exhausted to the outside using a heavy metal vent; do not use plastic or metal foil vents. Install four-inch rigid metal vents and avoid using non-metal flexible vents, exhaust hoods with magnetic latches, chimneys, furnace or cold air vents, attics, or crawl spaces for exhaust.
