Can I add dishes after a cycle has already started?

Yes, you can add items anytime before the main wash starts. Open the door latch to stop the cycle, wait for the spraying action to stop, and check that the main wash detergent dispenser is still closed before adding items. After adding, close the door and wait 30 seconds before firmly latching the door and pressing START/RESUME to resume the cycle. (Page 15)
