How do I install the drain hose on my washing machine?

First, use locking pliers to squeeze the hose clamp tabs together and insert over the end of the drain hose, then slide the drain hose onto the washer connection and release the pliers. The drain hose must be secured to stop it from moving when water is pumped out. For laundry tub or standpipe drain systems, use the drain hose form and do not force excess hose into the standpipe—the hose should be secure but loose enough to provide an air gap.
