Why is my washing machine making noises, and is this normal?

As with any new product, you will hear sounds you may not be accustomed to, including sounds when the door is locked or unlocked and during washing, rinsing, or spinning. You will hear water spraying and splashing during wash and rinse cycles, and between changes in wash actions there will be momentary pauses. These sounds and pauses are part of normal washer operation. However, ensure the washer is level, the four transport bolts were removed, and pockets were emptied, as items caught under the door seal or unbalanced loads can cause excessive noise.
