Clean both the refrigerator and freezer sections about once a month to prevent odors from building up, and wipe up spills immediately. Unplug the refrigerator first, then hand wash, rinse, and dry removable parts and interior surfaces using a clean sponge or soft cloth with mild detergent in warm water.
