How do I properly dispose of or prepare my old refrigerator to prevent child entrapment?

Before throwing away your old refrigerator or freezer, you must take off the doors to prevent child entrapment and suffocation. Leave the shelves in place so that children may not easily climb inside. Additionally, refrigerants must be evacuated by a licensed, EPA-certified refrigerant technician in accordance with established procedures and Federal and Local regulations. (Page 4)
