How should I properly attach the safety guard to my trimmer?

Place the guard on the lower shaft (7) and rotate it until it enters the slots and is firmly secured with two screws (Fig. C). The widest section of the guard (8) must face inward toward your feet. Once installed, remove the protective cover from the cutting blade edge on the guard. (Page 8)
