Why is my element cycling on and off more than usual?

The element cycling is likely due to one of these conditions: the pan base is warped and not making full contact with the heating surface, the base diameter of the pan is too small for the element size, pan ingredients have boiled dry, or the pan material is a poor heat conductor. This is normal behavior and the temperature limiter operates automatically to protect the glass ceramic surface from extreme high temperature damage. (Page 11)
