How can I improve energy efficiency when washing?

Always fill the appliance with the maximum amount of laundry for each programme, wash normally soiled laundry without a prewash, and choose the Cottons 60°C programme instead of Cottons 90°C for similar cleaning performance with considerably lower energy consumption. (Page 6)
