What type of water should I use to fill the water tank?

Use only cold, preferably filtered water. Never use distilled, de-mineralized, or highly filtered water as this will affect the electronics and the taste of your coffee. Always fill the water tank before starting a brewing cycle, never during brewing. (Page 12)
