How does the presser foot lifter work on the HE-800A?

The presser foot lifter is driven by a pulse motor and allows the height to be adjusted as desired in two stages: when the pedal is at neutral position and when it is depressed forward or backward. The presser foot rises only by the height necessary, reducing the time needed for it to rise and drop, which also shortens cycle time and reduces operator fatigue.
