The Brother HL-2000 is a Class 1 laser product as defined in IEC 60825-1 specifications. It has a Class 3B laser diode which produces invisible laser radiation in the scanner unit with a maximum radiation power of 5 mW and wavelength of 770-810 nm. You should not open the scanner unit under any circumstances. (Page 4)
