What should I do before shooting an important event?

Before shooting an important event, be sure to take test shots to make sure the camera operates properly (p.2). Additionally, if the camera has not been used for a prolonged period or you will use it for an important event, check the operation of all the camera controls or take the camera to your nearest Canon Service Center (p.5).
