What is the double feed prevention mechanism and how does it work?

The LBP1238 II employs a retard separation method to prevent double feed. This method uses a Separation Roller with no drive that rotates by following the Feed Roller. During double feed, when multiple sheets are between the rollers, the friction force becomes weaker, preventing the Separation Roller from rotating and stopping it from picking up the double-fed paper.
